TUCKEY FAMILY OF COMPANIES: A BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY
The Tuckey family
of companies finds its beginning with Tuckey
Metal Fabricators, Inc., started by Kenneth Tuckey in 1978.
Tuckey Mechanical Services, Inc.,
with origins dating back to 1968, was brought into the Tuckey family
of companies in 1981. The third introduction to the Tuckey family
of companies occurred in 1995, when Tuckey
Restoration Inc. was incorporated. The Tuckey family of companies
are three separate entities working collectively to provide an unmatched
scope of services with an unchanging focus on complete customer
satisfaction. As we eagerly anticipate the future, we recognize
the legacy of our past.
Tuckey
Mechanical Services, Inc.
Originating
in 1968, the company was known as Frank Black Mechanical Services.
The role of the company was to be a service company for plumbing,
heating, and air conditioning primarily for the residential market.
In 1981, the evolution of the company continued as Denver Tuckey
purchased the company and it became known as Mechanical Services.
The focus of the company continued with the service driven focus
it had maintained since its conception in 1968.
In 1984, Mechanical
Services was purchased by Denver's oldest son, Kenneth Tuckey, who
incorporated it as Tuckey Mechanical Services, Inc. Growth became
rampant and expansion kept pace as Commercial and Industrial Departments
were added. The Service Department also expanded its scope of service
by providing Preventive Maintenance
Programs.
As the evolution
Tuckey Mechanical Services, Inc. continues, a single focus is never
lost: customer service. Today, projects completed by Tuckey's
can be found across Central Pennsylvania in both the Residential
and Commercial markets. Some notable projects include: the Milton
Hershey Schools, Cumberland County Prison, Sarah Todd Nursing Home,
Cumberland County Courthouse, and the Perry County Courthouse.
Tuckey
Metal Fabricators, Inc.
In 1978, Kenneth
Tuckey started the company currently known as Tuckey Metal Fabricators,
Inc. Three years later, Mr. Tuckey purchased L.B. Sheet Metal, merging
the two into a single company and diversified the services provided
to include original equipment manufacturing (OEM), fabrication of
pollution control equipment, handrails, jail cells, and a variety
of unique custom designs and fabrications. The expansion of services
paralleled the continual growth of the Tuckey's ductwork manufacturing
for the HVAC industry.
In the early
90's, Tuckeys added a high definition plasma cutting machine. Using
computer aided technology, the machine allowed the company to produce
highly defined pieces while reducing waste and dramatically increasing
efficiency.
Today, the results
of Tuckey Metal Fabricators, Inc. quality workmanship can be seen
across the country in a vast array of custom fabrications. Some
notable projects include: Cumberland County 250th Anniversary Arch,
stainless steel architectural trim for the Harley Davidson York,
PA Visitors Center, and the Delta Dental Fountain.
Tuckey
Restoration, Inc.
In the early
90's, due to the quality reputation built by Tuckey Mechanical Services,
Inc. and Tuckey Metal Fabricators, Inc., Tuckeys was contacted by
local community leaders who identified a need for emergency repair
for fire and water damaged property. Subsequently, Tuckey Restoration,
Inc. was started in 1992 as a division of Tuckey Mechanical Services,
Inc. Responding to rapid growth, the restoration group branched
off from its parent company and was incorporated in 1995. The work
performed included emergency board up - clean up - restoration -
and reconstruction services after fires, water damage, and small
general construction projects.
Today, Tuckey
Restoration Inc. has become the Restoration industry leader in Central
Pennsylvania, continuing to provide fire, wind, water, and storm
damage repair and restoration services. Tuckeys also provides expertise
on air quality issues including mold remediation, project design
services, and special project development. Tuckeys extraordinary
team and technology include: two (of only a few hundred in North
America) Certified Mold Remediation Specialists, complete
project design and development services using AutoCAD software,
and digital photo inventory systems for restored content warehousing.
As a member of Disaster
Kleenup International, Tuckeys is able to provide a pool of
resources unparalleled in the restoration industry. Recently, Tuckey
Restoration, Inc. was recognized by the State of Pennsylvania and
given a citation for "Impeccable Workmanship" for cleaning
a project done in the Capitol
Building of Harrisburg.
Tuckey
Family of Companies: Past, Present, and Future
For nearly forty
years, the Tuckey family of companies has achieved consistent growth
and sustainable success. Realizing that complacency and an unwillingness
to change would dim the future of the companies, Mr. Kenneth Tuckey
combined a conservative management theory with calculated risks
to lead the Tuckey family of companies into their fifth decade of
service. Fifteen years ago, the companies shared a single building
and began their journey into the computer age with only a few computers.
Today, the campus includes four buildings networked together using
fiber optic technology to connect multiple computer users.
Three generations
of the Tuckey namesake are employed within the organization, however,
the Tuckey "family" has been comprised of hundreds of
individuals over the years that have worked tirelessly to grow and
develop the companies into a trusted service provider for our communities.
Currently, the Tuckey team is made up of over 130 individuals who
are committed to providing our customers with extraordinary service.
If you reside in Central Pennsylvania, it is likely that you know
someone who works for or works with one of the Tuckey companies.
Our teams work hard at their jobs while allowing time and energy
to be involved in their neighborhoods;
dedicated to giving back to the communities that we serve. At Tuckeys,
we are neighbors serving neighbors.
The Tuckey family
of companies has built a reputation on quality workmanship, reasonable
prices, and superior customer service. Securing our place as leaders
in each of our respective industries. The scope of services provided
by multiple companies have allowed Tuckeys to serve as a "one-call
contractor" for residential and commercial customers alike.
Our present service preserves our legacy, our commitment to continuous
improvement and embracing new technologies assures even better service
in the future. 5 decades.
3 companies. 1 focus. Superior Service.
