Q.

What are the best sources for mastering interior lighting design?

A.

You can find links to lighting and other home improvement resources at our website https://www.tuckey.com/resources.html. Generally, to achieve the most effective lighting plan, you will want to incorporate three types of lighting into the area. First, ambient lighting often provides basic background lighting. Ambient lighting may include recessed, track, or overhead lighting. Next, you will want to consider task lighting. This includes lighting (most often, lamps) that serve a specific purpose. For example, a lamp next to a reading chair or lighting that is underneath the cabinets in a kitchen. Finally, you should consider mood or decorative lighting. These are often creative and fun lighting fixtures including sconces, candles, chandeliers, etc. Usually, people notice and focus on the decorative lighting, however, all are equally important.
