What wall colors will properly match dark wood trim?
What wall colors will properly match dark wood trim?

Q.

I have an old house with original but dark wood high baseboards, pocket doors and trim. What colors would suit this room? I have a dark brown leather sofa.

A.

It seems like you have a beautiful home to decorate. It is difficult to provide detailed direction without asking a few additional questions, including: What other items are in the room? What colors are in the adjoining rooms? What amount of natural light does the room receive? Depending on your personality and style, you might consider adding some light colors to the room to brighten the space. Another option might be to visit your local paint store and ask where they have their “mistints.” These are paint colors that were mixed, but not purchased. Most stores will sell these cans of paint at a significantly reduced cost. You might find a unique color that you had not originally considered. We would love the opportunity to provide a free consultation and discuss your ideas in greater detail. Please contact us at 717-249-7052. Good luck and thank you for the question.
