OK - maybe not quite this quaint.
OK – maybe not quite this quaint.

Q.  We are planning to redecorate our cottage. The walls are a combination of clear cedar and gyprock. We are installing a Jatoba Cherry engineered wood floor. We are planning to replace the baseboards and trim and doors and were wondering what colors would go with the flooring and cedar walls. Also, would you have any suggestions regarding a color for the gyprock walls (they’re currently white)?

A. You may want to consider painting all of your trim and doors white and save the color for your walls. A lot of cottages will save the pattern and interest for the fabrics used on sofas, beds, etc. Try to get your inspiration for the wall color from your favorite quilt, the pattern on the sofa, or other collectibles you might be displaying in the selected room. Without more information on the other aspects of your home and your personal likes and dislikes, we cannot provide specific color options.
